Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about buying original Arabic perfumes in Pakistan from Fragrance Chapter. If your question is not answered here, contact us and we will reply personally.
Authenticity
Are your perfumes 100% original?
Yes. Every perfume sold by Fragrance Chapter is an original product imported directly from Saudi Arabia and the UAE. We do not sell first copies, master copies, replicas or refilled bottles of any kind. Our verified seller code is AUM-K9HU.
Do you sell first copy or master copy perfumes?
No, and we never will. A "first copy" is a counterfeit that carries another brand's name and packaging. It is not a grade of quality, and the phrase exists to make buying a fake feel acceptable. Every bottle we ship is made by the house printed on the box.
How can I check that the perfume I received is original?
Check five things: the factory cellophane should be tight and evenly sealed; the batch code on the box should match the code on the bottle base; the glass should feel dense rather than light and hollow; the atomiser should give a fine even mist rather than a wet spray; and the box printing should be sharp with no smudging or spelling errors. We are happy to send batch code photographs of your actual bottle before we dispatch it — just ask.
What is the difference between an original perfume and an inspired fragrance?
An inspired fragrance is a legal, honest product. A house such as Lattafa or Assaf creates its own composition in the style of a well-known designer scent and sells it under its own name and branding. A counterfeit pretends to be the original brand. Inspired fragrances are widely respected in perfumery and often excellent value; counterfeits are not.
Products and brands
Which perfume brands do you stock?
We carry Arabic and Middle Eastern houses including IBRAQ (Ibraheem Al Qurashi), Assaf, Reef Perfumes, Rasasi, Arabian Oud, Al Wataniah, Laverne, Thnyan, Osma and Dakhoon Al Emarat bakhoor.
Why should I buy Arabic perfume instead of a designer fragrance?
Arabic fragrance houses use higher oil concentrations and heavier base notes such as oud, amber, musk and tobacco, which perform far better in Pakistan's heat than light European eau de toilettes. You also get a real product at a real price. A genuine Arabic perfume at PKR 7,000 outperforms a counterfeit designer bottle at PKR 4,000 in longevity, projection and consistency.
How long do your perfumes last on skin?
Most of our eau de parfums give six to nine hours in normal conditions. Extrait de parfum compositions, such as the IBRAQ Tobacco collection, last longer. In peak summer heat expect around five to six hours with one afternoon refresh. Winter performance is noticeably better across the board.
What is the difference between EDT, EDP and extrait de parfum?
These describe the concentration of fragrance oil. Eau de toilette is roughly 5–15 percent oil, eau de parfum roughly 15–20 percent, and extrait de parfum higher still. Higher concentration means longer wear and stronger projection, which is why extraits and attars suit Pakistani weather best.
What is bakhoor and how is it different from perfume?
Bakhoor (also called dakhoon) is scented wood chips burned slowly over heat to perfume a home, clothing or hair. It is not a spray. We stock Dakhoon Al Emarat in oud, rose and kahilan varieties in 100g tins.
Are your perfumes suitable for both men and women?
Many are unisex. Arabic perfumery traditionally places less emphasis on gendered fragrance than Western marketing does. Each product page states whether a scent leans masculine, feminine or unisex.
Which perfume should I choose if I am new to Arabic fragrance?
Start with a balanced woody or musky composition rather than a heavy oud. Something clean and versatile will teach you what you like before you commit to stronger tobacco, leather or oud profiles. Message us with your budget and the occasion and we will shortlist two or three options rather than sending you a catalogue.
Prices
How much do original perfumes cost in Pakistan?
Entry-level Arabic perfumes run roughly PKR 3,000 to 6,000 for 100ml. Popular bestsellers sit around PKR 4,500 to 9,000. Premium Middle Eastern houses fall between PKR 7,000 and 15,000. Luxury Arabic compositions run PKR 18,000 to 40,000, and authentic European designer bottles typically cost PKR 25,000 to 60,000. If a designer perfume is offered far below these ranges, it is not genuine.
Why do different sellers quote different prices for the same perfume?
Import route, the dollar rate when the stock was purchased, concentration, bottle size, and whether the bottle is retail packaging or a tester. The same bottle can differ by two or three thousand rupees between two Pakistani sellers on the same day.

Returns and refunds
What is your return policy?
We offer replacement or refund within 7 days if a product arrives damaged or is found not to be genuine. Because perfume is a sealed personal-care product, we cannot accept returns simply because a scent did not suit you — fragrance smells different on every person, and an opened bottle cannot be resold. This is standard practice for perfume retailers.
What should I do if my bottle arrives broken or leaking?
Contact us within 7 days of delivery with photographs of the parcel, the box and the bottle. We will arrange a replacement or a full refund.
What if I think the perfume I received is not original?
Contact us within 7 days. If the product is found not to be genuine, you receive a full refund. We would rather resolve it than have you wondering.
Can I exchange a perfume for a different scent?
Only if the bottle is unopened and the seal is intact. Once a bottle has been sprayed it cannot be exchanged.
